Te Waiura O Te Ora Trust Nga Whare Oranga O Te Wairua O Te Ora is home to the Spirit in the East. It is from here the spirit and the Prophets will guide their people. Thier mission was clear. To close and seal the doors to the old world and open the doors to a new world.  The Prophets prophecized that a day will come when two laws, one to the left, the other on the right under the umbrella of Nga Whare Oranga o te Wairua O te Ora shall work together side by side. One from the spirit world the other from the material world to create unity under one voice, one people and one spirit.  Our mission is spiritual, our faith is deep, our work is measured not in the time we put in but measured in the time we give out. We are proud to be part of this mission and our organization works in the community to put into practise the work of the prophets and their prophecies led by the spirit.

Tuhoe ki Poneke   Our membership is made up of people who came into the cities during the early 1950's moving away from our traditional homelands to follow a trend of that era. To follow people who have spread the word that a new way of life is now open to Maori and then was the time to take advantage of that opening. We are the next generation of that move some still with us now calling ourselves "Tuhoe ki Poneke", a cultural society from Te Urewera who are now permanent residents in the Wellington region . We represent ourselves now in many regional and national kapahaka competitions holding true and honored in our quest to maintain our links to our homeland having done so for over forty years as of 2011. We are a proud peoples and hold true to anything Maori that requires a back bone in Maori Tikana, mana, wairua and of course to uphold the mauri of our ancestors no matter the place, time and the where.
Te Kakano Marae  Like nga whare oranga o te Wairua o te ora is home to the Spirit in the south. It is from here the spirit and the Prophet Rua Kenana guides his people. His mission was clear. To open the doors to the new world and open his heart to all his children that there is a new world.  The Prophet prophecized that a day will come when from his seed will rise the one who shall continue his work and lead his people into the new world. He also asked a mission minister to teach his children but the adults shall stay with him in his teachings. A tradition that continues to this day work together right here at Te Kakano Marae. One people and one spirit.  Our mission is spiritual, our faith is deep, our work is measured not in the time we put in but measured in the time we give out. We are proud to be part of this mission and our organization works in the community to put into practise the work of the prophets and their prophecies led by the spirit.
Ngai Tuhoe  We have a reputation for our powerfull adherence to Māori identity and our unbroken use of te reo Māori which 60% of us still speak today. We are between 33,000 and 45,000 strong with about 19 per cent still living on our tribal lands with most living in towns on the fringes of Te Urewera and in the larger North Island cities. At least 5,000 live in Australia. We still  continue to maintain camps in Te Urewera and help run conservation programmes for our bird life such as the kiwi and the kokako. Many of us return to our homelands every two years for the Te Hui Ahurei ā Tūhoe (Tūhoe Festival), which features kapa haka, debates, sports competitions, and fashion shows. The event provides an important opportunity to maintain ties between friends and relatives.
late 1990s we started referring to ourselves as the "Tūhoe nation" with the Crown having long strained our relationship, rejecting many of our plea's  declaring that we never signed the Treaty of Waitangi and never gave up their sovereignty. A fight we will win
